A little bit about us...

Ramsay

Hailing from Glasgow, our band leader has been a musician for about 100 years now and is an avid supporter of many local productions. He plays with other bands including Frayed Knot and Led Gremlin (when we let him).

He often boasts that he sleeps with our keyboard player, we are quick to point out that as he is married to her, this really doesn't count as a 'rock n roll' lifestyle. Pam even denies this, pointing out that he has to sleep with the dog on the sofa downstairs, especially when he has been naughty.

Ramsay plays a host of instruments, however with Kameeleon he sticks to lead guitar, slide guitar and lead vocals.

Jan

Originally from Dorking, Jan is our lead female vocalist and chief whip. Standing at 4ft 9in, Jan more than makes up for her lack of height in sheer aggression. She is also the 'baby' of the band, having no memories of WW2, rationing and national service, something the other band members are secretly rather jealous about.

Jan has played in numerous productions including panto, an evening of light entertainment, the DAFTA's and a Spice Girl tribute act called 'All Spiced Up'.

As well as singing, you will see Jan strumming her ukulele and bashing the tambourine during the performance. This has nothing to do with the music, it is her aggression release mechanism that saves the other band members from a 'right hook' when they play a wrong note.

Terry

Our bass player is the only band member who is originally from Kent, perhaps because he has never been allowed out of the county in order to protect the rest of the U.K.

Terry is a bit of a national treasure though, being the closest living creature with dinosaur DNA still running through his veins. The jury is out however, on the exact origin/breed of his hair, although the style has been carbon dated to circa 1974.

Terry will be singing the blues during the performance, this is due to his belief that all modern music is the work of the devil and should be left for the young'uns to listen to, like the stuff that Desmond Carrington plays on 'Pick of the Pops'.

Terry is a keen walker, and can often be seen yomping through the local countryside (we think he's still trying to find a way out of Kent to see what 'the outsiders' look like).

Pam

Our keyboard player has many hidden talents, some of which are starting to show since joining Kameeleon. You may hear the' clippity clop' of horses as you walk through Doddington, but when you turn around you won't see any horses. If fact it will be Pam practising her intro piece to 'Horse With No Name' on a pair of old reinforced bra cups and suspenders that Ramsay used to wear while working as a riveter's mate on Clydesdale.

Pam has accompanied the village band in many productions including pantos, musicals and theatricals. She is a founder member of the Doddington Ukulele Orchestra and an accomplished violinist.

During the performance, Pam will providing backing vocals in order to drown out the lads' rude version of 'Living Next Door to Alice'.

Andy

As the editor of this website, I would like to let it be known that although I am the sexiest bloke in the band, I have managed to keep my feet on the ground and not get too big headed about it.

As my talents do not extend to playing the guitar particularly well, (or singing for that matter), my role in the band is purely that of 'eye candy' - a fact that gets me down sometimes, as I'd much rather be recognised for my talents such as 'School tiddley winks champion '78' and my 100 yds swimming badge which is still proudly displayed in the family cabinet.

My cross dressing days as 'Muffy the Minger' are now over, as my alter ego resembled that of Nora Batty instead of Nora Jones, and apparently that look isn't in fashion any more.

During the gig you will hear me attacking the rhythm guitar to within an inch of its' life, whilst giving a vocal performance only a mother could love (although mine doesn't).

Tom

Former sailor in the Royal Navy, Tom sees himself as a bit smooth operator with the ladies, however having recently tied the knot with the beautiful Vicki, his Tom 'Cruise' days are officially over. (Vicki tells us).

Tom has played the drums since he was a nipper (our acute tinnitus is testament to that), and performs in local gigs and productions, whenever his hectic work schedule will allow.

Tom is a local lad who dreams of moving back to Doddington one day, however he doesn't know we have paid Vicki handsomely to keep him (and his drums) firmly out of earshot in Sittingbourne.

We look forward to gigging with him in 2017.
